A Little Color Here and There

We had a well worn and frayed blue tarp covering some dirt by the vegetable garden.  By last fall, the dirt was gone and we cleaned what was left of the tarp and put it away.  But we did leave behind several tiny shredded pieces on the ground.  In early spring while surveying the trees, bushes, etc. without their cover of leaves, I discovered this rather colorful nest among the bare branches.  Some sweet singing bird had a flair for decorating and she was not afraid to brighten  her surroundings with a beautiful blue-----from the plastic tarp!  Note to self:  Be brave------add color.

That falls in the realm of the birds that stole my shiny aluminum rhody markers to decorate the nest. Who says birds are "bird-brained?"

Oh, I remember that! Silly birds! Speaking of birds, the goldfinches were all over the place this morning in between showers. Love their yellow color.
