HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BROOKE

Joleen is the proud mother of this amazing charmer daughter.
Brooke at her best...entertaining us at the Fourth of July Picnic.

A couple of years ago, Brooke went to Beaverton with Grandpa. While he went up in a sailplane, she posed for photos for me. This is one of my all time favorites of her and it seems not all that long ago. We love the time we get to spend together. May this be a very happy birthday and may you always know that you are special to this family.

Happy 17th Birthday Brooke Ann!!

We've come along way from a 4 year-olds Cinderella cake.

Grandma & Grandpa must have spent hours curling ribbon to surprise you with a birthday party. (13th)

It seems like only yesterday, I was agonizing through 45 hours of labor to bring you into this world. What a wonderful Girl you've grown to be. Worth every moment. Happy Birthday!

Uncle Ben

Uncle Ben was a wonderful Uncle. More like a big brother at times. He very patiently played with Brooke at the little kids playground at Priest Point Park.

Uncle Ben

Alicia with Uncle Ben
Thanks to Kemp's children, Benjamin had the opportunity to be an uncle at an unusally early age. Alicia and Jacob took it all in stride. Actually the small difference in age made them more cousins than anything else. Now that Ben is older and there are more neices and nephews, he does fill the role of Uncle very well.

Reading to Grace

I recently had the opportunity to read Richard Scarry's Cars, Trucks, and Things That Go, to Grace. Shannon was at the camera and these pictures are in actual sequence. Here I thought that I had Grace's rapt attention, only to find her funny character aptly displayed.
(Note the big cardboard box in the corner. The new dishwasher came in that box and it has been one of Joel's favorite places to play. )

They Danced All the Night

Two years ago when Ben and JoLin were told to expect a little boy, Elizabeth loaned to me her wonderful book with these animals. This quilt was so fun to make and now Elizabeth is making one of her own but using farm animals.

Next week, they will find out if Joel is going to have a little brother or a little sister in June. And the search for the perfect quilt will begin again.

There they all are......dancing through the night.
