August Birthdays

Our family is loaded with August birthdays.  First, we had Joel who turned 4.
Then Natalie had her 9th.

Grace had her all important 8th B-day.
and Elissa became 19 the same day that Shannon turned 42!
We still have David and Kerry's big days to come before the end of the month.
There, I think that makes 7 birthdays in one month!
Happy Birthday to them all.

June 29----If I Had One Wish ----

then it would be: Happy, happy birthday to you from me/us. We didn't get to do much celebrating, but it doesn't diminish the special place Ross fills in our family.....and all of that free counsel too. Thank you, Ross!
In this picture he is at Overlake Hospital to help welcome Ben & JoLin's new baby.

Happy Birthday to the Old Man of the Mtns!

Happy 76th Birthday, Pop! You are a fantastic example to all of what a father and a man should be. You've been a constant rock of silent strength to me and I want you to know how much I love you. You are why I watch hangliders as long as I can when they happen to be in the sky, why I try to identify the different Evergreens in the woods, why I take interest in Hawks, Eagles, etc., why I like old cars, and why I love the mountains so much. You always took the time to point out these things out to me. You are definitely the reason why I am very clear in giving directions-boy, do I know my North, South, East, & West! I think I can blame you for the reason why I need things to be symmetrical in my surroundings. If only I had some of your math skills! Thank heavens someone in this family shares my passions for John Grisham and going to the garbage dump.

You may not have been able to see and do everything on your life's list, Dad, but you've been everything that your children have needed! I love you, and Happy Birthday.

Love, Shannon

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Gardening may be Mother's hobby of choice, but her first and greatest love is her family.

After Dad, her kids and grandchildren are the center of Mom's world. What a blessing it has always been to have her guidance, love, and friendship in our lives. Thank you, Mom - we love you so!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BROOKE

Joleen is the proud mother of this amazing charmer daughter.
Brooke at her best...entertaining us at the Fourth of July Picnic.

A couple of years ago, Brooke went to Beaverton with Grandpa. While he went up in a sailplane, she posed for photos for me. This is one of my all time favorites of her and it seems not all that long ago. We love the time we get to spend together. May this be a very happy birthday and may you always know that you are special to this family.

Happy 17th Birthday Brooke Ann!!

We've come along way from a 4 year-olds Cinderella cake.

Grandma & Grandpa must have spent hours curling ribbon to surprise you with a birthday party. (13th)

It seems like only yesterday, I was agonizing through 45 hours of labor to bring you into this world. What a wonderful Girl you've grown to be. Worth every moment. Happy Birthday!

Aug 14: SWEET SIXTEEN

Happy Birthday, Elissa! You are no longer a little girl for sure. But I wanted to post this picture to remember that it wasn't that long ago that you were. This is when your Dad sends you to the Tower and locks the door. You will be given one small window to look out, but you cannot escape. For entertainment, you will have your school books with you. Your meals will be brought up to you twice a day. And if any boys call, they will be told to call back in ten years. Therefore you will not be needing the keys to the car.

Remember, this is all for your good.
Happy Birthday Sissy!!

Aug 14: SHANNON'S BIRTHDAY

On this your special day, I have included this picture of you and Joleen since she was such a large part of your life. The two of you were always up to something big.
Happy Birthday to Shannon! Your hard work and love of family has blessed us all. No moss will gather where you are. There is too much to do and no doubt that you will get it done!!!!! But can you take today off?
